Revay Ndhlovu, Vice Chairperson of the EU in Zambia Youth Sounding Board, today joined The European Union Ambassador to Zambia and COMESA, Karolina Stasiak, as she hosted a diverse team of women to mark International Day of Women in Diplomacy, which is commemorated on June 24th.
The event offered an opportunity for women comprising those in senior management in Diplomacy as well as young women representing various projects and institutions to share opportunities for growth, and insights into different ways to navigate opportunities and challenges in career growth and advocacy.
The International Day of Women in Diplomacy provides a platform to celebrate the remarkable women shaping diplomacy and driving change around the world. Ambassador Stasiak, as a host, created a wonderful opportunity for the young women to strengthen their passion for advocacy, collaboration, and youth participation as they interacted and shared their stories.
Revay had the following takeaway :”It was very insightful to see the difference in perspectives between the already established female diplomats and the younger generation who are only starting their journey. Seeing the shared experiences and understanding each other’s differences brought us all closer and made the talk very meaningful.
As Zambia’s first and largest youth platform of its kind, the team carries the responsibility of amplifying the voices of over 15 million young Zambians and proving that meaningful youth participation is not symbolic, but transformational.
The Zambia Youth Sounding Board helps to strengthen young people’s passion for advocacy, collaboration, and youth participation.
