Bauleni Special Needs School gets activity room through partnership with Stanbic Bank

MORE than 150 children at Bauleni Special Needs School have something exciting to celebrate! A brand new activity room has been built for them, thanks to the partnership with Stanbic Bank Zambia.
The new room will give learners a special place to learn, play, practise new skills, and take part in therapy sessions. It was officially handed over to the school this week.
Tressford Mando, from Stanbic Bank, said the project is about making sure every child has the chance to learn and grow.
“In communities like Bauleni, having the right place to learn can make a big difference. We want all learners to get the support they need and feel confident about their future,” he said.
Mr Mando said the activity room, built at a cost of K480,000, will help solve a problem the school has faced for a long time. There was not enough space for all the special learning activities the children needed.
He said Bauleni Special Needs School supports children with different disabilities and learning needs.
“Many families in the area do not have easy access to special services, so the school plays an important role in helping children succeed,” he said.
One parent, Malala Mudenda, said the new classroom gives families hope.
Her child has autism and cannot speak, but she believes the new space will help many learners develop important skills.
“We are happy that children with special needs are being recognised. We hope more facilities like this can be built so that more children can attend schools that meet their needs,” she said.
The new activity room is expected to provide a safe, welcoming and inclusive environment where learners can learn, grow, and reach their full potential.
